CPA Director/Senior Tax Accountant

After more than 20 years in tax I am still smiling ? After completing my Bachelor of Commerce at UWA I went on to complete my CPA whilst working as the retail accountant for Pilkington Glass. Over the next few years I lived and worked in various small country towns in accounting positions whilst learning about farming, small business clients, optometrists and taxation. This variety of experience in my early years gave me an overall understanding of how businesses work, some of the challenges business owners face and the practical issues that require assistance.

When we moved to Karratha I became a registered tax agent and purchased my first business of Great Northern Accounting and Financial Services. After building a small client base I then merged in with Northwest Accountancy in 2005 to take on a position as a senior partner specialising in taxation.

2008 saw my family and I move back down to Perth and we have settled in the Hills where I now own and operate Pegasus Accounting in Mundaring.

My areas of expertise include small business advice, business structuring for tax effectiveness and asset protection, capital gains tax, property investment taxation, business planning, taxation and self-managed superannuation funds.

I believe in working as a team with my staff as well as my clients. I am known for being direct and straight forward when giving advice, and making sure that everyone understands what is going on. I don’t want to be the only one who understands your accounts, you need to as well as the business owner. I enjoy helping people through the often confusing web of tax, and coming out the other side smiling.

Since moving to the Hills my family has enjoyed not only the local sports but also horse riding. It is a lifestyle that we have welcomed and thrived on.
